The Gases Challenge 2005-2006

Each year SETPOINT Surrey and BOC launch “The BOC Gases Challenge” for secondary schools and 6th form colleges. The concept of the Challenge is to provide teams of young entrepreneurs with the opportunity to explore exciting new uses for helium or carbon dioxide and consider their commercial possibilities. It requires pupils to develop realistic commercial ideas that could eventually, if the possibility arose, be successfully marketed.

Judging is based on innovative:

Schools from outside Surrey will be eligible as a scheme has been developed to take part and complete the challenge remotely.

It is hoped that through participating in this challenge, young people will gain knowledge and self-reliance to assist them in becoming effective innovators and business leaders in the future.

Plans are well underway for this year’s challenge, due for completion in June 2006 but if you would like to consider it for next year, please e-mail: Helen.Atherton@boc.com.
