‘It’s a Gas!’ Show

Scotlandsummer 026

Following on from the success of our spectacular new science show called ‘It’s a Gas!’ at the Glasgow Science Centre in summer 2005, BOC is joining forces with a number of other organisations to present further shows, demonstrations and exhibitions.

The shows and experiments have presented the properties and applications of gases through live experiments with smoke, bangs and a strong element of excitement. BOC video footage is used when the excitement is too much for the safety regulations. Safety is a theme throughout and constantly emphasised by presenters.

BOC @Bristol

During Science Week 2006 (March 10 – 19), The Regional Learning Centre @Bristol will be adapting the ‘It’s a Gas!’ show to their own resources and creating a version of the show for children aged 9 and over. Working with George Foulger, a BOC science ambassador, their presentation will be offered as a free ‘drop in’ show within their Live Science Zone. This event will not be bookable. For further information on @Bristol call 0845 345 33 44.

BOC at Sheffield Hallam University

In March, Sheffield Hallam University will be taking part in a number of science events aimed at school and family audiences.

They are to present the ‘It’s a Gas!’ show on March 22nd to 400 local schoolchildren who will be transported to the University courtesy of the Industrial Trust. This has been organised by Paul Jarrett, a BOC graduate engineer and Science Ambassador along with Paul Brooker, an ex BOC employee, now a director with the Industrial Trust.
