What are BOC Science Ambassadors?

Around 40 staff working within BOC’s UK businesses have assumed a voluntary role as the company’s ‘science ambassadors’. This group, from varied education and employment backgrounds are based across the country. Each, has established links with schools, colleges and other science interested organisations local to their operations base, to help promote education in science and to offer advice and assistance.

They can carry out presentations to primary and secondary groups - involving a range of lively and interesting experiments - to display the characteristics and applications of a range of gases. They concentrate on bringing gases to life whilst placing major emphasis on important safety procedures and environmental aspects.

As well as their demonstrations about gases they are happy to cover aspects of their own science and education background in relation to working in a technological company.
